What We Have Learned so Far about Solving Problems in Black America
Well we have now gotten through Part Five on who have solutions to problems in Black America. So when we look at list of all the Problems which include such things as making our streets and making schools safe again for our children, stopping Black on Black Killings, Decreasing the Drop out rate of High School Students, getting better education in our public schools, stopping the School to Jail Pipeline, just to name a few. It seems like on every show we end up coming back to the same conclusion that the solution always leads back to the word education.
Now this is my opinion. The solution starts with sending the parents back to school to learn how to raise a child. It seems that from the time economics caused the mother to come out of the home to take a job to help support their family the teaching of values has been on a decline. Keep in mind the Mother always was the substitute teacher in the home along with all the other hats she war. So economics caused Mom to trade her Substitute Teacher hat for a job out side of the home. So who was left to check to make sure the child did his home work assignment or be there to assist their child with a math or grammar problem. Who was there to attend the PTA meeting? Who was there to reward the child for bringing home good grades or to punish him for bad grades? So over the years this was no longer an example for a child to learn how he or she should teach their children. Thus morals were lost. The teaching of right and wrong has been left up to the child. We even gave these children a name. They were called Key kids, because they went to school with a key on a chain around their neck.
We ended up with children getting out of schools going home to no supervision. Thus they ended up forming friendships with other kids in the neighbor hood living under the same circumstances. Now we have the forming of a neighborhood gang. Thus comes the forming of mischief. It may have started out with something small like stealing candy from the local corner storm. This in my opinion was the beginning of the Gangs in America today. They were forced to form their own families because they had none at home.
Remembering back to my day as a teenager when I had stop gaps in place to keep this from happening. It started with Mom being at home. Then we had the neighborhood that looked after our kids. We also had effective programs in the Church for our kids to take part in. It was an honor to be a Boy or Girl Scout. The YMCA played a large part in the Community. Little league baseball or football was a part of growing up for every young man. This is only a part of what we have to bring back to save The Black America.

Norman Rockwell's Boy Scouts of America $23.24 Since the beginning of the Scouting movement in America 100 years ago, events have been recorded in paintings and drawings by an official artist. Remarkably, there have been just two official artists in all that time: Norman Rockwell and Joseph Csatari. Through brushstrokes of oil paint on canvas, the artists chronicle the history of Scouting in America - from campouts, hikes, and pinewood derby races to the Scouts public service initiatives throughout their long history. Their artwork celebrates the boyhood joys of Scouting whilst illustrating a code of honor and ideals that has shaped generations of young men. |
