Preserving Memories with Girl Scout Patches
Girl Scout patches are so much more than simply something to be sewn onto a sash, vest or jacket. They are memories, accomplishments and recognitions that build self esteem. Proudly worn by young ladies everywhere, Girl Scout patches tell a story, describe a cherished accomplishment, recall events, and delight Moms. Finding the perfect patch for any reason has never been easier thanks to online venues. Custom patches are available with any design you can dream up, making them as unique and original as the special girl they represent. Long after the event they display, Girl Scout patches will still recall the story and invoke those special remembrances.
Several specialty online companies offer thousands of patch designs as well as custom designed patches made to order from your own drawings or suggestions. Browsing the various patch websites can give you ideas of what other councils have done around the world to depict theme events, sports, games, fests, holidays, celebrations, seasons, service and tradition. International, citizenship and diversity patches are colorful and festive while demonstrating pride and patriotism for any Girl Scout.
Be sure to peruse the extensive lists of vendors who create, design and produce every kind of Girl Scout patch imaginable, where you will be able to enjoy shopping for an almost limitless supply of lovely patches ranging from the tried and true originals going back to the beginning of scouting in 1912 when Juliette Gordon Low conducted her very first meeting, to Girl Scouting in 2010 with all its new technology related patches.
Take advantage of such services as custom embroidery digitizing, customized logos, appliqués and iron on style emblems and patches. With the online companies you can shop seven days a week, anytime of day and get 24 hour shipping when you need your patches in a rush. Patches for certain events, accomplishments or specialty purposes can often be highly customized and require a professional who has the expertise to create a quality patch. Patches are made to last for generations as the heirlooms they are, especially when affixed to a hard earned sash or vest that has been carefully crafted over time.
When patches need to be identical to others within the same troop, you can be assured of consistency when working with a company that creates custom Girl Scout patches. Whether you are ordering for your Council, your troop or your own daughter, you will be thrilled at the quality and selection of custom made patches available online today. The only limitation will be your creative imagination.

Boy Scout $116.3 A Boy Scout (in most countries simply a Scout) is a boy or a girl, usually 11 to 18 years of age, participating in the worldwide Scouting movement. Because of the large age and development span, many Scouting associations have split this age group in a junior and a senior section. Boy Scouts are organized into troops averaging twenty to thirty Scouts under guidance of one or more Scout leaders. Troops subdivide into patrols of about six Scouts and engage in outdoor and special interest activities. Troops may affiliate with local, national, and international organizations. Some national Scouting associations have special interest programs such as Air Scouts, Sea Scouts, outdoor high adventure, Scouting bands, and rider scouts. Some troops, especially in Europe, have been coeducational since the 1970s, allowing boys and girls to work together as Scouts. First Girl Scout (Hardcover) $25.18 The founder of the Girl Scouts, Juliette (Daisy) Gordon Low, was a quirky, remarkable woman with ideas that were ahead of her time. A sensitive child, she grew up in Savannah, Georgia, where she developed what was to become a lifetime interest in the arts. As a young woman, Daisy suffered from chronic ear infections and lost most of her hearing in one ear. She lost hearing in her other ear after a grain of rice lodged inside it at her wedding, puncturing her eardrum.     Daisy`s life spanned an important era in U.S. history, and her story is chock full of curriculum connections, from the Civil War and reconstruction (her mother was a northerner who believed in abolition, her father was a Confederate soldier), to westward expansion and Native American studies, women`s studies and early feminism, and later, World War I. She made her own valuable contribution to history by founding the first national organization that brought girls from all backgrounds into the out-of-doors, giving them the opportunity to develop self-reliance and resourcefulness. She created controversy by encouraging girls to prepare not only for traditional homemaking, but also for possible future roles as professional women—in the arts, sciences, and business—and for active citizenship outside the home. Girl Scouting also welcomed girls with disabilities at a time when they were excluded from many activities and groups. |
