For today's medical professionals, a lab coat is de rigueur for work wear. Traditional lab uniforms reach mid-thigh and come in white. They are made of a poly-cotton blend and are durable. Now both lab scrubs and uniform scrubs undergo a lot of cleaning. Previously, uniform scrubs came in one or two colors and one cut. The lab uniforms were always white and in the same cut. Nowadays, since so many health care providers wear scrubs on a daily basis, there has been a fashion revolution with a variety of colors, patterns, and cuts available in both lab coats and scrubs.
