As long as there's not a hospital, clinic or doctor's office policy prohibiting anything other than stock uniforms, those in the medical profession will find their uniforms can be anything but boring. In fact, even basic nursing scrubs come in so many style, cut and color options these days, it's hard to tell them apart from street clothes in some cases.
The options the fashion conscious will find in nursing scrubs are pretty amazing. There's variety not only in the tops, but also the bottoms, too. Let's take a look at some of the options in both.
Tops:
Nursing scrubs used to come almost exclusively in one color and one cut. If it wasn't a straight shirt with maybe a pocket in hospital green, it wasn't considered a nursing scrub top. That's just not the case any more. The fact is there are all kinds of options for both men and women.
Nursing scrubs for women have tops nowadays that range from the old standby to v-necks, wrap around styles and beyond. The color choices pretty much cover the rainbow, too, and the pattern styles are amazing. Tops still are generally made in cotton, polyester or a blend of both, but the cuts and styles are pretty amazing.
Men, too, can find a variety of nursing scrubs designs. The tops can range from that good, old fashion basic to long sleeve, pocketed and even a slight v-neck. There's no reason to go basic and boring, unless of course, it's required.
Bottoms:
Here's where some really neat options in nursing scrubs come into play. No longer are plain old drawstrings without a pocket the only options. For both men and women there are all kinds of choices out there. These range from cargo pants, designed to hold all kinds of things in their pockets, to jeans-like pants, draw strings and even zippers. Elastic waists are also readily available.
Women will find there are even nursing scrubs bottoms made to show off a little style, as well. With flares becoming quite popular, there's no reason to work the floor looking plain and boring.
While nursing scrubs now come in a variety of colors and styles, it's still a good idea to make sure they're allowed before a big investment is made in them. Since some of the colors and cuts might be considered "racy" in some circles this is especially important. But, if they're allowed, there's no reason to sacrifice style for comfort, as many of these cuts still provide all the comfort a busy nurse requires while managing to look great, too.
